Sexual Harassment

The most prevalent form of harassment in the workplace is Sexual harassment.  It is a violation of the rights of employees, and can have a negative effect on the overall efficacy of a business.  Sexual harassment violates the law when it is so severe or constant that it alters the conditions of the victim’s employment and creates an abusive working environment.

Examples of behavior that may be sexual harassment include sexually charged jokes or pranks, whistling, unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, grabbing, and verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature.  The behavior being complained of can be directed at the person being harassed or at a third party.
